Ujicha Kobo Workshop Making tea by hand
“Picking up” “Rolling” “Breaking up” and “Kneading”. The process of making Ujicha varies from process to process, even if it is called hand-kneading in a nutshell. You can experience the “Uji method,” which has been passed down by many tea masters in Uji and has been improved in various ways. Each pair of participants can share the finished tea leaves and take them home with them.

The secret to making sencha is to slowly dry the steamed tea leaves while kneading them to bring out their full flavor.The resulting sencha leaves can be taken home. Ujicha Kobo Workshop Making hojicha
Enjoy the experience of easily turning sencha into hojicha (roasted green tea) using a ceramic plate.Hojicha is made by roasting sencha or bancha over a strong fire. The secret to making hojicha is to roast it at a high heat of about 130°C or more, roast it until it has a roasted aroma, and then cool it immediately.You can take the finished hojicha home with you. You will also learn how to make a delicious cup of tea. (Sweets included.)
